Asthma problems...?!

Question:

Asthma problems...?

my doctor diagnosed me with asthma about 12 months ago...I had a severe episode on a cruise ship...took me 3 months to get well. Any way, I have had pneumonia 6 times in the last 12 months...they say it is a complication of the asthma. I take nebulizer treatments, zyrtec, singular every day. I am middle aged. Does this sound normal? They blow me off at the pulmonologist...on my spirometry test I only show using 40% lung capacity. Does anyone else with asthma have this problem? I have never been dx with asthma until a year ago

Answers:

Asthma is a condition that is characterised by the narrowing and constriction of bronchial tubes that deliver air to the lungs. It then leads to more difficult breathing. Asthma is triggered by exposure to substances like dust, pollen, animal hair and smoke, collectively know as allergens.

You need to determine what you are allergic to so that you can minimise exposure. There is no apparent cure for asthma.
