Skin rash like stuff....?

i have these like spots on my neck and upper chest and they are oval and redish brown there is a big one on my neck i went to the doctor and she told me ethe name of it but i forgot it started with a P or R and i think part of it sounded like Rosa or rose. and she said not to worry because it it lasts 4-12 weeks and its caused by a virus. but what is this rash like stuff called?
