Answers:
1) "Methicillin-resistant S!. aureus (MRSA): MRSA is a type of Staphylococcus aureus resistant to certain antibiotics including methicillin and the more common antibiotics such as oxacillin, penicillin, and amoxicillin!. MRSA incidence is on the rise in the U!.S!. and it has now become recognized as a major community-acquired pathogen!."

2) "Take antibiotics!. Although MRSA is resistant to certain medications there are still antibiotics available that do treat MRSA!. One common antibiotic given is Vancomycin!. Your physician will prescribe medical for a specific length of time!. Take medication as advised!. Drain the infection!. Your doctor may advise the infection be drained!. A physician or nurse will perform this procedure!. Your skin will be numbed and an incision made!. This allows the pus to drain from the infected area!. Start intravenous medications!. If the infection is severe, you may be hospitalized so IV antibiotics can be administered!. Your physician will evaluate your condition and determine if this is necessary!."

3) "MRSA does not respect age!. A new born baby had become infected with it from the umbilical cord when it was cut!. MRSA infections most often occur in patients in hospitals and are rarely seen among the general public!. As with ordinary strains of Staphylococcus aureus, some patients harbour MRSA on their skin or nose without harm (such patients are said to be 'colonised'), whereas other patients may develop infections!.
Some patients are at increased risk of developing infection!. They include those with breaks in their skin due to wounds (including those caused by surgery), indwelling catheters or burns, and those with certain types of deficiency in their immune system, such as low numbers of white cells in their blood!."

4) I haven't found a specific reason, but as the first poster said its more then likely because of how resiliant it is and how fast it spreads!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

1!. MRSA is methicillin resistant staph aureus!. Often now being referred to as ORSA (oxacillin resistant)!.

2!. It is treated with antibiotics, typically vancomycin!.

3!. It can affect anyone in the community or in a hospital setting!. No one person is immune!. Lately in the news several NFL players have dealt with MRSA skin infections!.

4!. It is a "superbug" because it is resistant to nearly all conventional antibiotics!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
