Snorting benadryl to target stuffy nose and allergies?

This may sound like a very bad idea.....I have horrible allergies which make my eyes swell, itch and tear....and my nose become so stuffed that I cannot breathe or smell for days. I've contemplated snorting benadryl before (I figured it would hit the target area fast because it goes right to my nasal passages......) now I understand that snorting anything is dangrous and hazardous.....but if my allergies are that bad and prescriptions like allegra and others don't work fast enough...is this possibly a short cut or a potential killer??
