Does my son have an illness that I should worry about?!

Question:

Does my son have an illness that I should worry about?

My son who is 2 years old developed really small red bumps on his face and a few on his arms about two days ago. Today his cheeks are a bit red. He doesn't have a fever or act sick in any way, he's also not itchy. Is this something I should worry about? I am also 33 weeks pregnant. I don't think they are chicken pox. Should I wait another day or 2 and take him to the doctor or go see a doctor asap?

Answers:

you should most definetly consult a physician for both your son's sake and you and your unborn baby.
could be something as harmless as ezcema or rash since there is an absence of fever. do you or your son have allergies? people with allergic tendancies ussually are prone to skin problems like ezcema. does the rash seem to worsen with a hot bath or fragrant lotion? these may both cause a flare up. check out this web site: www.keepkidshealthy.com
however because your son is so young, you need to get it checked out, and also your pregnant, if he has something more serious than a simple skin rash you may be putting your other baby at risk. just call a doctor.
good luck.
