This is quite simple!. Anxiety produces the need for more blood to flow round your arterial system!. The way your brain (which controls blood flow) effects this to increase the pressure!. (It also increases pulse rate and decreases the resistance to flow at the same time, but you needn't bother about this, because you rarely notice)!.
So that's why your BP rises!. It's quite normal, and safe!. It is, -in fact-, the way the cardiovascular system operates and regulates itself!. If it didn't, there'd be something wrong with you!.

This leaves you simply with the anxiety problem!. Answer!? Prozac (temporarily) or something similar!. Wean yourself off it as quickly as you are able, but don't feel guilty about taking it!.

You have a problem, --it can be fixed!. But it's NOT a Blood-pressure problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would recommend seeing your GP, if you are getting anxiety attacks then some Cognitive Behavour therapy might help, and your GP can refer you to a counsellor who will help you with your anxiety!.

If you feel panicky, then concentrate on breathing, if you take nice deep breaths rather than short panicky intakes you will find yourself calming down!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A doctor could prescribe a mild anti-anxiety agent for you, such as Ativan!. Inexpensive and effective!. But you should also get to the source of the anxiety and correct that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Talk to a friend about the anxiety attacks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Reduce Caffeine & Sodium Intake!.
See a doctor, maybe meds will help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
