What is unresolved anger?

I need help with unresolved anger the causes the symtoms the cures. Someone keeps telling me I have an issue.

Answers:

Unresolved anger is damaging emotions we feel about things that happened in the past that we haven't completely dealt with.

Say, for example, that someone beat you when you were a kid and you were very hurt and angry about this, but you just put it to the back of your mind and kept on dealing with the day to day stuff of your life. You didn't deal with the assault when it happened, so it's unresolved. Now, let's say that whenever something happens that makes you mad, like someone cutting you off in traffic, or someone takes your parking space, the feelings you had when that assault happened come back and make you much more angry than you really should be. You don't consciously think of that long ago incident, but it's always there, working away in the background, poisoning things for you, whether you're aware of it or not.

You can deal with unresolved anger, and it's a real good idea if you do, because it really does adversely affect your life. I know this from very personal experience. I didn't realise I was such an angry person until I wasn't angry anymore. The anger affected every single aspect of my life and it was such a relief to have it dealt with so I could learn to be happy again.

The best way would be to see a counsellor, because they have the right tools to guide you through it. That's what I did. At first I thought it was a waste of time, but gradually, I came to learn so much about myself and the anger issues I had. Once I knew about them, then I could help myself heal.

There is light at the end of the tunnel, it can definitely be fixed, I'm living proof. I've never been happier and I'm always smiling. I never used to. I do hope this helps.
