How do I know if its my cold or allergies acting up?!

Question:

How do I know if its my cold or allergies acting up?

I've had a cold for about a week now with a slight sore throat, but now I keep sneezing and have a runny nose. This is the 1st year I've been diagnosed with allergies. Should I take benadryl or cold medicine.

Answers:

Usually when you have a cold, the snot that comes out of your nose when you sneeze isn't clear. It's usually a different color whereas when you have allergies, the snot is clear. And also with allergies, you tend to sneeze many times in a row but if you're really unsure then go to a doctor and have yourself get checked out. Hmmm, also be careful when mixing medications. Different medications react with one another, so ask a pharmacist or someone who knows which medicines are okay to take with each other and which aren't.
