Hi there, TIA's can be detected on brain scans, sometimes they use dye, other times not!. It can also show scar tissue at a later date from a mini stroke!. My fathers has had 2 of them since April!. The first one made him fall over, drool, unable to use his legs, and total gibberish for his speech!. It took 2 days to come back!. The last one, he was unconscious, speech affected, lip drooped, left arm unable to use for about 10 minutes!. It depends on where the stroke is in the brain as to what is affected!. Both times he had brain scans, his were left sided strokes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
They may have paralysis in certain areas, maybe even limited to one side of the body (i!.e!. left side of the face, little use of an arm, etc!.) They may also have short term memory loss, like the simple everyday things they do every day now need guided instruction!. Speech may also be affected and slurred!. The good news is, most people recover from TIAs within 48-72 hours, so the immediate symptoms are short lived!. They may, however, require physical and occupational therapies to get themselves back up to par!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
