First for all those people who said NO!.!. YES it can be diagnosed at 67!. When She was born it definitely wasn't a practice to do new born screening!. Second She most likely has one of the most mild forms of Cystic fibrosis!. While the median survival age is 38 years old that doesn't mean at 38 we all just up and die!. Many CFers live past 38 and I know of one woman who lived to her 80s!. Who had children and is a grandmother!. I know of a few people who have been diagnosed in their 30s and 40s!. New born screening didn't start until about 20 years ago in sonm states and today some states STILL do not do new born screening!.
You may still want them to re-do the test maybe ask them to do a DNA swab instead of a sweat test just to be sure!. A DNA swab will prove if its definite since you need 2 CF genes to have CF!. Sometimes a sweat test is inconclusive or if done incorrectly can just be wrong!.

Cystic Fibrosis is a condition with which you don't make a specific protein because of the way your genetic Information is!. You can't develop it later in life because that would mean your DNA has changed so no, i can't image that she was correctly diagnosed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes i know someone who was diagnosed in their forties in england, so it is possible!. Not all CF patients are seriously ill straight awayWww@Answer-Health@Com

It's genetic, so no, she hasn't got Cystic Fibrosis!.

If she did had CF, she would have been struggling with her breathing since she was a baby!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'd say it is a misdiagnosis!. CF is a genetic disease people are born with!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If she's a smoker then it could be pulmonary fibrosis!. Maybe you are confusing the 2!? they do sound alike!. HTHWww@Answer-Health@Com
