Don't stress yourself out, honestly it is not that bad!. I had mine taken out 4 years ago after dealing with gallbladder attacks for 2 years!. Of course you are sore for a few days, you can't lift more than 20-25lbs but I felt like a new person just a day or two after my surgery!. The important thing with having any surgery laproscopically is that you need to get up and move around alot!. The doctors will inflate your stomach with gas to move your other organs out of the way, when they deflate it sometimes you are left with alot of gas still in your stomach!. I suggest that you walk as much as you can, and take gas-x it will really help with being so bloated!. You will be given pain medication to take so you may want to purchase something like colace stool softener because the pain medication will make you constipated!. I hope this helps!. GOOD LUCK!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Gallbladder removal -known to physicians as cholecystectomy (Ko le sis TEK to me) - is a relatively straightforward and commonly performed surgical procedure!. Until recently, however, the surgery required a six- to nine-inch incision and a weeklong stay in the hospital, followed by four to six weeks of recovery at home!. Healing of the surgical incision could entail considerable pain!.
Today, gallbladder surgery can be performed by laparoscopy, a minimally invasive technique not requiring a large incision!. Patients usually return home on the morning following surgery, and they can resume their normal routine within a week!. With laparoscopy, patients lose less blood during surgery, and they experience far less pain!.

Don't worry about it!. I had mine out last year, and it was no problem!. Albeit, I was really sore for about three weeks, but only needed prescription pain meds for about 5 days after the surgery!.
It took about a month for my poops to even out!. If I ate a lot of fatty foods, it was no problem, but if I didn't eat enough fat, I had problems!. Go figure!.
When you go in, for the surgery, if you're at all scared, tell them!. Ask to meet the anaesthesiologist, the surgeon, (if you haven't yet), the chaplain, anybody else you want to meet!. Have them explain everything they're doing!.
When they came at me with a huge IV needle, I got worried!. But, it turns out they numb you up first, so the only thing you feel is a tiny poke from the numbing up needle!.
When they give you the medicine to go to sleep, it burns, but like for a second!. Then, boom, you're out like a light!.
After what feels like about a second, you wake up and it's all over!.
Be prepared to say some pretty silly things!. The stuff they give you makes you loopy!.
Then, plan for a couple weeks off of work!. And don't try to wear jeans or anything with a tight waistband for about a month!.
And yes, the Colace is a good idea!. Stock up on ready-made meals, TP, anything else you might need for the next two weeks!.
I could go on, but they should give you pretty detailed post-op instructions!.
Oh, and if you have to cough, puke, or poop, hug a pillow to your tummy!.
Hope that helps!.
Sorry if some of that was TMI!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't stress you will be in and out!.

The worse part is being put under, risk wise!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
