Answers:
There is an over-the-counter medication called Coricidin HBP, a mild cold medicine for those with high blood pressure and other cardivascular issues!. I can't say it gave me much relief, but it's an option!.

LeAnn,
Bear in mind that the Mayo Clinic has stated that upper resperatory disease is caused by fungus!. You may want to treat the cold symtoms for quick reliefe, but that will not cure the problem: you have to kill the fungus, yeast overgrowth!.

For a basic understanding of fungus go to www!.knowthecause!.com and click on FAQ's and do the free anti-fungal diet plan!.
Of course, for the diabetes he has to stop all sugar intake as much as possible!.

Get the gut back into harmony with itself by taking organic yogurt and PRO-BIOTICS!. Supplement with anti-fungals such as Olive Leaf Extract, Aspirin, Apple Cider Vinegar,Caprylic Acid,Grapefruit Seed Extract, and others, but not all at the same time!. Rotate them as fungi are very adept at skirting around the road blocks; they too want to survive!.

Use a sray of Neem on his pillow and check for mold in the house!.

This is a very touchy subject, and if your husband has heart problems, it could be fatal!

Most decongestants work by vascular constriction!. This is turn raises blood pressure!. Being a diabetic, your husband probably already has high blood pressure!. Having heart problems makes it dangerous!.

You need to call his doctor instead of trying to sefl-treat over the internet!. That is the SAFE way to handle this,Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi LeAnn,

I've found that nothing is more effective at getting rid of a cold than Zicam!. After doing a little research, I see that the nasal gel may cause a loss of smell!. I have noticed a reduction in my smelling abilities and would therefore recommend a zinc lozenge (sugar free, recommended) such as Zicam cold remedy rapid melts with echinacea, for example!.

I use the Diabetic Tussin for cough!. For the actual cold part I usually suffer and just take Tylenol!. If he doesn't want to go to the doctor you could ask your Pharmacist what medicine your husband could take telling them what he takes for his heart!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My doctor has always told me to be careful what I use, and suggests that I call the office if I am sick!. A cold to a diabetic can be hard to treat, so usually my doctor will call something in for me, but if he is not sure about my symptoms, I have to go see him!. There are some things in the diabetic section in the pharmacy, but even with them, you have to look closely at the contents!. Best bet is to call the doc!. What my doc give me to take usually depend on my symptoms!. I am allowed to use nasal spray for stuffy nose, though!. Usually this is the biggest help of all, since not being able to breathe through my nose is the worst symptom for me!. If it is something viral, antibiotics don't help, so most of the time, you just have to take some tylenol or aspirin, and tough it out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
