Experts, can u help me out: How do I treat CHICKEN SKIN?!

Question: Experts, can u help me out: How do I treat CHICKEN SKIN!?
I think I have chicken skin!.!.!. you know, those raised, tiny bumps on my skin!. They look exactly like goosebumps -- I know it's not just cos I'm "cold", because the bumps come in patches and they don't encompass a large area like the whole arm!.

They are more prominent after I've just taken a shower, when the skin is very dry!. I used to have really good skin until I've reached my 20s!. I'm starting to notice poor skin condition and color!.!.!.!.

I don't want to go to a dermatilogist just for this!.!.!.!.just asking what I can do for now!? Should I scrub myself everyday to get rid of it!?!? Thanks for answering!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Chicken Skin is term used for hyperkertinization---when the skin produces too much keratin (which is a protein)!. The actual condition is known as Keratosis Pilaris!. People have different views on the cause but most agree its hereditary!.Ive reasearched it quite a bit--there are many factors that will enable you to control the condition--it wont go away but it can be treated!. In treating it you will find smoother more supple skin!.

Both my sister and I suffer from this condition!. I have been using a product by DermaDoctor called KP Duty--there is a scrub that you can use 2 times a week in conjunction with their Cream Moisturizer!. The moisturizer can be used 2 times a day!.KP duty can be purchased in Sephora!. It is expensive!. For best results using both is best---but the cream moisturizer alone can do the trick!.

A very good alternative that my sister uses is a cream moisturizer---Amlactin!. This can be purchased at most pharmacy stores---found near or in the pharmacy but purchased without a prescription!. My sister used a buf puf and her body wash to exfoliate in the shower then applied the Amlactin lotion at night before bed!. She did complain that it has a medicinal smell!. It is available in 2 formulas--reg and XL!.
Both items are dermatologist recommended!. The key to combating Keratosis Pilaris is finding a product with Glycolic Acid and Lacitc Acid!. Best of luck to you!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

No one advises a daily scrub no matter what, it irritates your skin even worse!. If it feels like dry skin, try an oatmeal bath soak (they sell those at rite aid) and a light scrub once a week!.

You have to fix it from the inside! Get thee to the health store and get some fish oil capsules that are high in omega healthy fats, some coconut oil caps, and flax seed oil caps!. Experiment to see which ones help you the most (I take all 3 once a day!.) Drink lots of water so you're not dehydrated, and I bet within a month you'll notice a real healthy difference to your skin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like keratosis pilaris - just a build up of keratin (normal ingredient of skin)!. Do not scrub - it will just irritate your skin!. Use moisturizing body wash (like Dove or Aveeno) and try to find a lotion with urea in it!. Some are over the counter and some are prescription strength!.
Visit www!.dermis!.net - they have alot of good photos of skin conditions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
