Continuous high white blood cell count now in hospital receiving intravenous ant!

Question:

Continuous high white blood cell count now in hospital receiving intravenous antibiotics.?

For the past few months, my mom has had a high white blood count. The Doctor prescribed her several antibiotics at different dosages because she said it was an infection somewhere. Finally, my mom was admitted into the hospital to have intravaneous antibiotics adminstered. The drs has ruled out diabetes, kidney infection, and uti, but says she have kidney stones. One of the drs want to do a bladder scope, but says he have to wait for the infection to clear up or it will make matters worst. They are now saying there's a possibility of a bladder infection, but is awaiting lab results from blood cultures. My mom is scared to death and beginning to get depressed thinking she will never make it out of the hospital. Does anyone know what tests are to be ran or what may be other possibilities? Mom has been in the hospital for 5days now with no answers and it is getting a little discouraging. Prior to the hospital, she had a weak bladder with little control of holding it. HELP!!!!

Answers:

All you can do is be patient and be there for her. If at any tine you and or your mother feel her care is not sufficient call in another doctor. Ask as many questions as you want. Do not let them dismiss you and your questions. Even if you do not understand, take notes and look it up later. Try to educate yourself as much as possible so you can confront them with educated questions.
