How many of you have heard about that MRSA staph infection?!

Question:

How many of you have heard about that MRSA staph infection?

How many have it or have had it and what do you think about it.? How many of you know how serious it could be? Be careful around anyone with open sores, cuts or scratches. I've seen some pretty nasty cases, and I don't even work in a drs' office or hospital.

Answers:

i have heard of it and seen what it does when it's in an open wound. it is methacillin resistant staph, methacillin being a very strong antibiotic and not strong enough to kill this strain of staph infection.
there are many more strains of bacteria that are becoming resistant to very strong antibiotics.
in my experience, most of these bacteria's are spread in hospitals by the staff not washing thier hands when going from room to room. this is called nosocomial infections and you can look it up on webMD to learn about exactly how serious this has become.
new antibiotics being produced ended back in the 60's and the ability of bacteria's to "learn" how to resist antibiotics is the reason for these stronger strains of bacteria.
