Advice of Chagas disease? Can you try some cure of any kind or imrove your conditions ?

I get it when i was a child
Know a have rigth Bundle branch block,
can I try some cure of any kind, or improve my condition with vitamines, or loss weigth or exercise every day, or .................................
Help, im worry for my kids.
And yes i went to my doctor and he tell te to have a check every year,
but I want to try a little hard.............

Hi - I'm sorry that this has happened to you. I wish this wasn't the case, but there's no cure for chronic Chagas - there's not much information about using anti-parasitic drugs, and the information we do have is conflicting. Therefore, heart "failure" from Chagas' is treated the same way as heart failure from any other cause. (Heart "failure" is not really failure, because your heart is working; it's just the term that health care people use to describe a heart that doesn't pump as well.) I think your doctor's advice about repeating tests yearly is a good idea. I would definitely be followed by a cardiologist if you aren't already - a heart doctor would definitely be more aware of the latest research on treating your condition. And the questions you have about how you can take charge of your own health are definitely good questions to ask a cardiologist.
As far as treatment options, heart failure medications are usually first line treatment if your heart needs them. Next is usually a pacemaker, then transplant is the last resort.
If you are only being seen every year, it sounds like your block may be on the mild side. In the meantime, I would do what you can to reduce strain on your heart. If you smoke, the most important thing you can do is to stop. Drink alcohol moderately, if at all. Try to lose weight and limit salt in your diet. Other than that, follow up with a cardiologist.
