Hyoscyamine does have a rare side effect of fast/irregular heart beat. I will provide link below. But it does state that when taking Hyoscyamine to drink plenty of water at all times. Hyoscyamine also lessens the amount of certain body fluids (e.g., saliva, sweat). So you could be a little dehydrated. Dehydration can cause irregular heart beats. Remember that sodas are not a form of hydration. Drink water. I cannot find that Nexium anything that says Nexium causes palpitations.

At times, palpitations can be linked with increased stress or use of caffeine (which you said you were cutting back on), tobacco, alcohol, or certain medications. Eliminating these factors can help decrease or even eliminate symptoms.
It depends upon what kind of palpitation it is as to whether the heart is pumping harder than normal or faster than normal.

Thyroid disease may also cause heart palpitations, in that case correcting the thyroid abnormality may improve palpitations.

But you already gave yourself the best advice, see your doctor this week and discuss these issues with him/her to be on the safe side.
