If close relatives in your family have lupus or any other autoimmune disease you have about a 5% greater chance of developing one!.

Lupus is not directly inhereited they way sickle cell is inherited!. Instead, you have to inherit just the right combination of genes and then you need a trigger in order for lupus to develop!. There are numerous cases of genetically identical twins where one develops lupus and the other does not, demonstrating that it is not exactly genetically inhererited, but develops as a result of a combination of genetics and triggers!.

Known triggers are stress, severe trauma, cigarette smoke and UVA/UVB light!. There are other suspected triggers, but not clinically confirmed!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

of course your chances increase greatly with history of lupus in your family especially that so many people in your family have it!. but that doesnt mean you will get it!. lupus can still be in your body and you can be a carrier but there is chances it will be active or remain dormant!. just dont stress over it in fact relieve as much stress from your life as possible because your body itself can make that dormant lupus active when i found out that i was a father it was a super crazy shock and like i felt my life was over and well i juts dindt know how to handle it and then i began getting sick ( im 17 by the way and my son is now 1 year old =) ) and well the doctors finally found out that it was lupus and me being a male is kinda weird and unique because not a lot of males have lupus and me being soooo young like the doctors were amazed and well they told me that really bad stress can trigger and cause for the lupus to become more active!.!.!.!.!.!. sooo just take care of yourself and watch your health very closely i hope everything is well with you =)

Yes, Lupus is an illness that is inherited!. That doesn't mean you will definitely get Lupus, just that you have a higher likelihood of developing it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
