Fifths disease and Rubella?!

Question:

Fifths disease and Rubella?

Can anyone tell me the difference between Fifths disease, (aka Parvoviris B-19 Infection or slapped cheek) and Rubella? I know that once you have Fifth's disease you are or should be immune but is this the same for Rubella. Any differences or information between the two is welcome. Thanks in advace for your wisdom! =)

Answers:

Fifth Disease was so named because it was the fifth pink/red infectious rash to be described by physicians. The other four are Scarlet Fever, Measles, Rubella, and Roseola. Chicken pox was added later and is the sixth.

Unlike Rubella, if you are exposed to Fifth disease during pregnacy you child will not suffer from birth defects, but still the baby can develop severe anemia and die.

Here is a medical site for Rubella: http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/rubel...

And here is a mecical site for Fifths : http://www.webmd.com/parenting/understan...

The main difference is that Rubella negatively affects other parts of the body that Fifths does not. Both sites are interesting as both diseases have negative impact in various stages of human growth.
