Does anyone know the last few symptoms from having ALS?
A family member has been DX: with ALS, she has symptoms of no talking, swollening, eating, very weak with mucles. How much longer can she last?
Answers:
ALS patients usually die from pneumonia because they can no longer prevent saliva and other secretions entering the lungs, even if on a ventilator. Other patients will get life-threatening bedsores.
If I had ALS, I'd kill myself before I lost the use of my hands. It's a horrible way to die.
