Question: Already have herpes 1, type 2 symptoms!?
Is it fair to say that if someone had type 1 herpes, then caught type 2 (genital) herpes, they would be less likely to show symptoms because their immune system is already coping with type 1!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

They are 2 different strains!. That is why they are called 1 and 2!. Look at it this way!.!.!.if you have HSV1 and have recurrent outbreaks, then chances are HSV2 will cause you to have recurrent outbreaks as well!. You wouldn't be less likely b/c your immune system has built up a defense against HSV1 not HSV2!. However, the body is a miraculous tool and proves us wrong all the time!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have both types of herpes and I have symptoms of type 1 regularly, more then I experience type 2 symptoms!.
If some one all ready had type 1 for a long time then they would be less likely to get type 1 else where!.
Type 1 can be spread to the genitals it doesn't turn into genital herpes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
