When a leukemic patient has a low white blood cell count, it is considered that she is more capable to catch more infections!. Therefore a fresh christmas tree probably wouldn't be a good idea to be in the house due to the molds, and fungi that may be on the tree, naturally!. Just make sure her white blood cells are in the normal range, and she will be able to enjoy the tree you bought her!. You are a wonderful grandchild for her, to think of her joy and happiness!. I wish her the best, and Merry Christmas and God bless to both of you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If she is going to activly be taking treatment during the time the tree is in the house!.!.!. NO!.
This gets into what her white blood cell counts are!. AML patients have a weakened immune system, and almost no immune system during treatment!. Live plants have bacteria, fungi, and often chemicals from the growing process which would be very bad for her!.

I really like the idea above about putting the real tree outside a window or something!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am very sorry your Grandmother was diagnosed with acute leukemia!. I understand, as my father was afflicted with this!.

It is extremely thoughtful of you and if she is happy with the tree that is all that matters!.

I wish you, your Grandmother and the rest of your family, a very happy and wonderful holiday season!.!.!.god bless to you and yours as well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sorry about your grandma!. Unfortunately she cannot have any real plants, fresh flowers, trees, fresh fruit or fresh vegetables!. You could get her an artificial tree!. Or you could set the real one up outside of a window she can look out of frequently and string it with lights and outdoor ornaments!.

I wish you and your family the best!. May Grandma get well soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
