How does your food sensitive child react when a trigger food is consumed?!

Question:

How does your food sensitive child react when a trigger food is consumed?

Yesterday we gave my 1 1/2 year old son just a little smidgeon of cheese to see how he did with it. He defenitely has a dairy intolerance but we suspect something else as well. We hadn't trialed dairy for a few months so we wanted to see if anything changed. Anyways, ds had the cheese at dinner time (BAD time to trial a food BTW!) so at about 5:30, he was fine until 11:30 and then he woke up SCREAMING. This was the screeching pain cry. He screamed in my arms for the next couple of hours. I would lay him on his belly and he would scream and fart. He would roll onto his back and pull his legs into his chest. Finally around 2:15 am he fell asleep but he would wake up every 5 or 10 minutes and let out a little cry and move around. He was never really still through the whole night. He woke up this morning at 5:50 still pretty grumpy.

How does your child react when they have a food they shouldn't have?

Answers:

This sounds like lactose intolerance. See a specialist, they can help with treatments. In the future, if your child has an allergic reaction to something, do not allow him to be exposed to it ever again, and see a doctor immediately. In the case of anaphalaxis, the first reaction is usually mild, but the next time it is more severe, and any time after that, it is fatal unless treated within 10 minutes. The symptoms of a mild attack can include swollen or itchy lips, or a swollen itchy red rash.
