Can you catch a cold from a dog sneeze?!

Question:

Can you catch a cold from a dog sneeze?

Or vise-versa

Answers:

Although unlikely, yes you can.

Typically infections that infect animals do not infect humans and vice versa. Lyme disease would be an obvious exception, since it can infect dogs and humans alike, but Lyme disease is not transmitted via air, but rather is contracted by a spirochete organism via blood contact from a tick.

Sneezing, is a primary immune response by the body to expel something that is foreign - that does not belong.

The question is - what did the dog sneeze contain ? could it have contained a microorganism that would have had no affect on a dog, but could be detrimental to a human ?
Although unlikely, yes it is possible.
