Sunken eardrum in children?!

Question:

Sunken eardrum in children?

my sons has had tubes put in his ears twice, they finally came out, now the doctor says his eardrum is sunken in. Can it go back to normal on its own, or is surgery my only answer. I dont want to have to get surgery agian hes only four, please help.

Answers:

Ask your doctor and also get a second opinion.
Make sure your child blows his nose correctly-not blocking one side or both sides when he blows. Keep ears clean, take doctors/nurses advice. I'm sure there are other helps and preventions, but I don't know them. I know that blowing correctly is very important and also not letting him sniff and snuffle-that backs mucus and germs into his ear canals. Live well.
