Hi!. I am always feeling really bloated!. I heard that it could be an intolerance, but how does the doctor find out if you have an intolerance!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is no reliable test for food intolerance, even the skin pricking and IGG protein tests are not always accurate!.So the best thing to do is keep a food diary/journal and record your symptoms, that way you can see which foods are bothering you!.Usually salt, carbonated beverages, fried food and gas forming foods cause bloating!.A diet diary is a must to pinpoint which foods are causing you symptoms and avoid them to see how you do!.If you do decide you want to go the testing route,I reccomend the RAST test or the blood test which measures food intolerances!.A naturopath or Holistic oriented doctor can direct you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are gluten intolerance (celiac) blood screening tests that are VERY accurate!.
There is also a hydrogen breath test and stool test that can diagnose lactose intolerance!.

The problem with a food journal is that many foods take HOURS to days to show symptoms (I know some celiacs that take 24-48 hours to start cramping up from a glutening), so a food journal is a tool, but the screening tests are diagnostic!. There are also other tests they can do to rule out other gastric issues, not just allergies and intolerances!.!.!. endoscopy, pill endoscopy, colonoscopy, barium x-ray studies, etc!.
A food journal is important in helping point the way, but is absolutely NOT diagnostic in and of itself!. Go to your doc, get the bloodwork and the other tests that they need to do to rule in or out what your issue really is!
Good luck! I hope you feel better soon!Www@Answer-Health@Com
