Has anyone have ALL before or having ALL. Please tell me the experience.?

My son has completed chemotherapy of 6 month was diagnosed ALL 09.11.06 , we want know what should be do for him for not coming back this problem. please share your experience with me.

Answers:

My son was diagnosed with ALL in september 2004, he underwent a chemotherapy protocol that lasted 2 years. He completed his treatment in september 2006 and by now he has been almost a year without chemotherapy and doing wonderfully. He still goes for his checkups every month but the doctors say he is doing very very good. If your son was diagnosed with the same condition, the first thing you have to know is that ALL is one of the childhood cancers with the biggest curation rate, I understand that in general it has an 80% curation rate; that means that from every 10 kids who are diagnosed with this disease 8 get cured. Those are pretty awesome numbers dont you think? I know that for you at the point you are now with your boy this might sound difficult to achieve, but believe me, once I was there too, right where you are at; once me and my son were asking the same questions you are asking now; what I want you to know is that your son will get better, I understand how difficult it is dealing with the pain of knowing your kid was diagnosed with cancer, but believe me, cancer is not so bad once that you realize there is BIIIIGGG hope for him. What I did with my little boy (he was 4 years old when he was diagnosed) is taking him to all his chemo sessions, not skiping even one of them, I followed the instructions of the doctors , and the most important thing, I PRAYED to Jesus to cure my baby. I still do that every day, and that is what you should do to keep the problem from coming back ever. My son is the living proof that he listens. Just open your heart to him and ask him to cure your baby and he will. And one day... maybe 2 years from now, you will be the one saying to another mother with a kid recently diagnosed with leukemia that her little one is going to be fine. You will be able to share your experience with others and bring hope to them. Keep yourself strong and tell your boy that he will get better, it is only a matter of time. God bless you and I will keep your boy in my prayers.
