A friend who seems interested in me has a sibling suffering from down syndrome. Will my future kids inherit this genetic disorder too?

Answers:

Okay, let's start over with someone who actually knows what they're talking about.

Nearly all cases of Down syndrome are NOT inherited by a parent carrying any genetic cause for it, in other words, it's completely random and could happen to anyone.

There is one rare kind of Down syndrome that is sometimes inherited from a parent, called translocation. This accounts for about 1-2% of the cases of Down syndrome. The parent can carry the genetic cause for it without having it.

There are lots of other possible genetic conditions that a potential mate could have - and you could too. You just can't pick your mates to be perfect.
