Why do they act so suprised?!
Question:
Why do they act so suprised?
well of course smokers are discriminated against because they are killing themselves and everyone around them.
Answers:
I agree that you have the right to clean air, but discrimination is a little different than segregation. Discrimination implies that smokers are treated differently in areas where they deserve equality. The right to have healthcare insurance, but possibly pay a higher premium, but not be denied. The right to vote, as long as they put out their butt at least 35 feet from the polling place door. The right to a meal in a public restaurant as long as they abide by the preceding....etc. The right to a job, if they abide by the break rules and not take the employer's time to smoke. (Some places won't hire smokers because the ASSume the smoker will be less productive.)
BTW, although I am totally in favor of tolerance, I prefer my air clean too. I do not smoke cigarettes, but I do enjoy a cigar (outside and downwind of my family) once or twice a week.
For some reason, people today think they have a God-given right to dictate what everyone around them should do, say or think. If it doesn't affect you, you should be tolerant.
