I've got a sort of heat rash on my arms and back, what can i do?

For the last 24hrs my skin on my arms is burning in patches & getting a red rash on it, also on my back. My face has been getting flushed as well. Also my 5 y.o. daughter has the same on her arms & thigh. Our temps are normal & feel ok but dont know why my skin is burning so & what to do about it. Any ideas for treatment or will it just go away? Ta...

get some oatmeal bath and take a lukewarm bath. soaking your skin. use a cortizone oitment on the patches to prevent itching or they make a spray as well that may be easier. use a lotion, (gerber makes one for babies) that containes oatmeal. stay in out of the heat for a couple of days if possible. stay well hydrated. if this doesn't help, see a doctor you might end up needing a steriod cream to cure it, or it may be something worse than heat rash
