Son wakes up screaming at night?

i have a 2 year old son,and every night around 1am he wakes up screaming like someones trying to kill him. when i go into the room he is sitting up on the bed kicking his legs around like crazy.if i get near him or try to touch him he screams even more. i have also noticd that sometimes his leg muscles will be twitching. anyone ever hear of anything like this?

Yep, my son had similiar at around the same age, firstly the legs can be a result of not enough calcuim , I game my son the teddy vitiams for children and that seemed to stop it. secondly check that your son does not have a tempeture , even a slight one, as that can produce night terrors and thats how it happens they wake up screaming and you cannot seem to wake them up from this eposide for quite a while. sometime they run around the house screaming, my son did.
it lasted about 3 years and then he grew out of it, but it scared the heck out of everyone in the house. he never did it if he did not have a temp. his tonsils were the culprit. have the dr check your son. temp only needs to be 1 degree above normal for this to happen, gee goodluck on those sleepless nights and try not to worry too much it scary but will be OK
