What exactly is stage 1 in Type 1?!

Question:

What exactly is stage 1 in Type 1?

I think my son is in the early stages and from what I gather from all sources; Most people don't catch it in the early stages and are very sick when it is found. If they did, then test were pretty normal and no one took them seriously. My son drinks a lot, eats A LOT, has been moody lately, and has had blood glucose readings (random) of like 170-215. He eats very healthy, I am lucky, he doesn't like sweets. He loves his veggies.
Took him to the dr and his test were "within normal limits" but he also had a great no carb dinner and nothing for 12 hours when they did it. On an average day, he eats every 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
Any experienced advice???

Answers:

My child has Type 1.

The hallmark signs are frequent urination (hourly, even at night), excessive thirst (quarts and quarts), extreme hunger (demanding food), and weight loss.

My child also had stomach pain, but not everyone gets that.

Two random blood sugars of 126 or greater are diagnostic of Type 1.

If he has it, he will be on insulin; there's nothing you can do or could have done to prevent it.

Good luck to you.
