How can I tell the diference between a cold sore and a poison ivy rash?!

Question:

How can I tell the diference between a cold sore and a poison ivy rash?

Answers:

Cold sores, herpes simplex 1,are usually limited to the area between chin and nose. If the rash appears on other parts of the body, including other parts of the head, it is usually shingles or herpes zoster.
Poison ivy can pop up anywhere. The PI rash itches a lot, weeps and spreads. The rash is most likely to pop up where the plant touched your skin, i.e. arms, legs, hands. Calamine lotion makes it feel better.
Herpes itches before the blister appears, does not weep or crust until the blister has matured. Calamine lotion doesn't do anything for a cold sore.
