Question:

How we can know that Cancer has cure/remove permanently.?

My 2yrs old lovely son is suffering by Blood Cancer (ALL) & has completed chemotherapy of 6 month, now how can we know that he is permanently cure,& cancer has removed permanently from his body.

Answers:

Basically you will never know. The current tests can only see the effected cells once there is a certain amount of them. He will need to have regular blood tests and marrow biopsys probably throught the rest of his childhood. He is also at higher risk for the adult version, AML. The chemo is was most likely given also raises the risks for AML and other non-blood related cancers to occur.

This may not have been something you looked at when you did your initail reshearch of the disease. So go back and reasearch ALL in relation to cure/survival rates. Look at the treatment your child was given. Look up the names of the chemo and research those.

Speak with your doc about this. They should have discussed this in detail with you.
