Severe TMJ sufferers... advice?
Please help! I didn't have any symptoms until 1 year ago and now I can't even open my mouth all the way. My teeth hurts, my head hurts and nothing helps. Massage, bit guards, pain killers... I'm a singer and this is affecting my ability to sing well. I've heard surgery can make this worse as well as cause facial malformations. Has anybody tried accupucture? How do you cope? I'm a young mother with 2 children and this is really affecting my life.

I, too, am a singer, and I had TMJ to the point I had to contact my son's orthodontist. BEST move I could have made. He put me in a bite splint that gradually pulled my bite back to where it SHOULD have been. Bad thing was I had to go through braces all over again.
