Lyme's Disease or MS?!

Question:

Lyme's Disease or MS?

Has anyone here been diagnosed with Lyme's only to find out it was a false positive and instead have MS?

I'm just asking if it's happened to you or anyone you know. The reason I ask is that I tested positive for Lyme's...it's just that my ANA (titre) is ridiculously high and we're just not sure if it's the Raynauds that is kicking it that high or if I could be testing with a false positive. I had an apt. with Infectious Disease on Thurs, of course he has to say there's a possibility and we didn't do any lab work because I have an appointment with Rheumatology in two weeks, then go from there.

Hi,
I am not an expert on this, but I have done a lot of reading. Many conditions have particular symptoms and patterns. The problem is that there are no REAL identifying reasons for the condition. MS is defined by the ANA and placement of lesions in the nervous system.
What I have seen is that if the condition is considered "autoimmune" , a body attacking itself, (like MS)
then there should be a positive response to steroids, meaning a diminishing of symptoms. What others have told me who have these nebulous conditions with no defined etiology, is that when they take steroids for the pain, etc, then their clinical picture, instead of improving becomes worse. They often say, "I am allergic to steroids" They are not allergic, they have an organism producing the symptoms which multiplies and extends during the period when the steroid shuts down the immune response system.

So my question to you is: What is your physiological response to steroids ?
If you improve with steroids, then an organism probably does NOT produce these symptoms (and you DONT have lyme)
but do have an auto immune disorder.
