I was diagnosed with diverticulosis but i have never been constipated?!

I was diagnosed with diverticulosis but i have never been constipated?

the gastro doctor told me it was mild, thing is this comes from being constipated to much and i am not.what else could be causing this problems? they did a colonscopy and that all he found
