Camera down throat waiting list 8 weeks?!

Question:

Camera down throat waiting list 8 weeks?

I'm having health worries at the moment and been told I need the camera down my throat to see what's causing long term nausea and recent unintentional loss of weight of nearly a stone. Been told the waiting list in NI will be about 6-8 weeks. Due to other symptoms, this really worries me ....not sure I have that long to wait about! (I wish i could pass this off as hypochrondia but unfo can't). Does anyone know if it is possible to get this done quickly by a private consultant - I've been told even with private work there can be a waiting list of about 4 weeks especially as the main holidays are coming up here. Anyone any experience of this, how much does it cost etc. Thanks.

should add that NI is Northern Ireland in the UK.

Answers:

Call the place you have the appointment with and explain there is an urgency (no details need be given - - they only do the test) and ask to be put on a list to be rescheduled to an earlier date if there was a cancellation or someone had to reschedule, no matter day or time the appointment may be.
