A mole next to my mouth?!
Question:
A mole next to my mouth?
will they remove it on the NHS or will I have to pay privately? how much does it cost? very self conscious about it lately, and want it gone.
Answers:
If a mole bleeds/gets knocked/catches, then the NHS should do it. Also if it changes/looks dodgy they will remove it for you. I shouldn't really say this, but if you tell the doctor that you are always catching it/stabbing it with your fork etc , then they will do it for you . One word of caution.....If it is a large and very obvious mole, it is preferable to get a proper plastic surgeon to do it for you. The reason is that you won't get scaring. A normal doctor/surgeon is quite capable of removing it, BUT their stitching is not so neat. Plastic surgeons are especially trained, to do invisible/virtually invisible stitching. I had a huge ugly mole removed next to my mouth. In my mind it looked like a witches mole, but when I had it removed, NOBODY noticed. I had lived with this facial mole for 49 years. I looked in the mirror every day, and hated it. I waited all that time, and got it done only last year. This means that what is hideous in YOUR eyes, other people simply don't even notice. I did go privately to have my ugly mole removed, because I wanted a neat job by a specialist plastic surgeon. I used my private health insurance, as I genuinely did have another 'dodgy' mole on my face, which was done at the same time. With the NHS, it is luck of the draw who you get, if I am honest. Good luck with your decision. Sometimes it is worth sacrificing a couple of holidays to pay for it privately!
