Is chemotherapy used only for cancer treatment?
My father in law is in hospital poorly and has had bone marrow tests, kidney biopsy and has been told he has an infection in his blood. He is to start receiving chemotherapy and has just started intraveneous steroids. We are told not to worry it is not cancer but I assumed chemo was only used for cancer, can anyone else help? Kathy.

No it has other uses. Chemotherapy will suppress the immune system so the medications needed can eradicate the infection properly and have the full effect.
