I can telll you from my experience of using it, YES it is. I was a pimple face in the 5th and 6th grade and when I used neutrogena at the end of 6th grade my face cleared. If this doesn't work for you, you could go for something more expensive like proactive, but really it's a bargain when you see the results. My sister had horrible acne even into her 20s and shes been using it, and now her face smooth.
