Can running cause intestinal issues?!

Question: Can running cause intestinal issues!?
I've noticed 2 or 3 times that after running, I'd have to use the bathroom and I'll have some blood in my stool!. It's a reddish color and it only happens when I work out but only those few times!. What could cause this!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
blood in the stool is definately not a good thing!. If its bright red like you say and its ONLY after you work out then its probably not anything like and ulcer or chrons or ulcerative colitis (that wouldnt occur just after working out) and im assuming that its not painful or you would have said so so that means its not a fissure or external hemerhoids!.

My guess would probably be that you have some internal hemorrhoids (same as external but they are a little higher up and dont hurt) which might bleed a bit when you exert yourself (especially if you are lifting weights and straining that region)!.

They arent anything too serious and they can be treated pretty easily by your friendly neighborhood Gastroenterologist with (probably) an office procedure (depends on what techniques he likes)!. However, blood in the stool definitely isnt normal and so you really should see a doctor to have it checked out, just to make sure its not anything more serious!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If the blood is red, there may be some small fissures near the anus!. Intestinal bleeding would, I understand, appear black!. So you might have a hemorrhoid that complains when you exercise!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
