Moisturizer for Chemotherapy?!

Question:

Moisturizer for Chemotherapy?

Can someone tell me the name of a good moisturizer for The person getting radiation therapy for cancer? She is a 67 year woman to be specific.

Answers:

I'm a nose cancer survivor who went thru radiotherapy.
Advises from my nurses include:
- No scrubing of area which will be administered with radiotherapy (for me, it was my neck area). Reason they gave was the dead skin cells that were not removed will help cushion the burns.
- No oil-based moisturizer
- When going for radiation, make sure moisturizer is not applied and cleanly removed
- If peeling skin is noticed, try not to peel it off. Instead moisturise it more to help it adhere and protect the "new" layer of skin growing.

I used aloe vera gel during the entire period of my treatment. I practically slap a thick layer of it on my skin. It was not oil-based and very cooling. I was glad to say I did not suffered from any bad burns that resulted in the skin cracking open; all I had was blackened/ darkened skin that was almost like a tan. And this layer of skin peeled off perfectly less then 3 weeks later.
I had seen some patients at the same center with burns so bad, the skin was peeling off before their treatment ended.
