For everyone, patience is a learned behavior, but for some people, it is much harder to learn than for others!. It's never easy to figure out if your brain is not wired to be a patient person or if you simply haven't learned the art of patience!. Maybe only a psychologist can figure that out!. The only way i know to learn patience is to acknowledge that the things another person does, the way they do them, and the time it takes them to do those things are all important to that person, and they possibly can't behave any differently!. So, put yourself in their shoes and think how you feel if someone is rushing you!.

Also recognize that there are things you can't change, so remind yourself that you alone are responsible for making yourself angry whenever you encounter something you can't change!. In situations that you have no control over, you have a simple choice: accept the situation and make the best of it or tear yourself up fighting a battle that you will always lose!.

Sometimes, it's not as simple as thinking through the situation!. This might sound very weird, but some of the common symptoms of minor depression (and sometimes bipolar disorder) are impatience, frustration, and irritability at oneself and others because their actions do not meet their ideals of how those actions should be!. People that have this problem due to mild depression often have an insufficient amount of serotonin or some other imbalance in brain chemicals that determine your mood!. When there is a chemical imbalance, it may not be possible to have normal moods!.

This could be something to talk to you doctor about!. If you have mild depression, it doesn't mean you sit around and mope and feel sad - it can show up as something as simple as irritability that seems out of proportion to the situation!. It wouldn't hurt to talk to a doc and see about trying an antidepressant such as Wellbutrin to see how that affects your mood!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, counting to ten helps--I know that's originally an anger thing but it works for patience too!. Also just self control!. Practice holding perfectly still!. Frankly, it's better if you have to work on it because you focus on that instead of what's to come!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
