I've had a pink bump on the edge of my top lip for almost a week and was wonderi!

Question:

I've had a pink bump on the edge of my top lip for almost a week and was wondering if it's oral herpes.

I've had it for about a week and it hasn't popped or become scabby or anything. It looks like a pimple, but I don't usually get pimples this big, or on my lip. The thing that makes me suspicious is that I just got sick yesterday, and I know that symptoms can include an extremely sore throat, fever and swollen lymph nodes, all three of which I have.

Answers:

If it is hurt, yes it could be herpes. But, second grade syphillis has the same symptoms too, except the lession is not hurt.

Secondary syphilis
Secondary syphilis occurs approximately 1-6 months (commonly 6 to 8 weeks) after the primary infection. There are many different manifestations of secondary disease. There may be a symmetrical reddish-pink non-itchy rash on the trunk and extremities. The rash can involve the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet. In moist areas of the body, the rash becomes flat broad whitish lesions known as condylomata lata.

Mucous patches may also appear on the genitals or in the mouth. All of these lesions are infectious and harbor active treponeme organisms. A patient with syphilis is most contagious when he or she has secondary syphilis. Other symptoms common at this stage include fever, sore throat, malaise, weight loss, headache, meningismus, and enlarged lymph nodes.

Sore throat, fever n swollen lymph nodes are common body reaction to virus and bacteria infection. Flu can get that symptoms as well.

If you're not sure, why dont you see your doctor.
