Has anyone ever heard of a sister mary joseph nodule?!
Question:
Has anyone ever heard of a sister mary joseph nodule?
Answers:
The Sister Mary Joseph sign, also called Sister Mary Joseph nodule or node, refers to a palpable nodule bulging into the umbilicus as a result of metastatic gastric cancer. Cancer cells reach the umbilicus via lymphatics which run on the edge of the falciform ligament alongside the obliterated umbilical vein, or by transperitoneal spread. Sister Joseph nodule is associated with multiple peritoneal metastasis.
