Yes and Yes!. The swollen heart is called cardiomeagly and is associted with enlargement of the muscles of the heart and constriction of the chambers!. The heart requires more blood and oxygen to feed more muscle and if you exert yourself to much then the heart lacks oxygen and you have a heart attack!. This condition is mostly associated with Atrial Fibrillation, Congestive Heart Failure, and sudden cardiac death!. Now that you mentioned that it was a little girl then go look up Congential heart disease and you will find your answer!. While you cannot have a swollen heart in its entirety, the sack around your heart can be swollen, the muscle sometimes swells, the valves may become 'swollen'!.
Heart attack is a broad term!. There are several catagories of problems wich cause 'heart attacks'!. MI's can be rarely cause by bacterial infection of the inside of the heart!. fibrillation cannot be (at least I can't think of a way) be caused by any swelling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Are you talking about an enlarged heart!? That does increase your risk for heart attack!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
