If he has been on antibiotics lately he may well have developed C diff, Ask the hospice nurse to call the dr and get an order for C Diff stool sample and have it tested!. If they give you any flack about being on hospice tell them it is not invasive and you dont want him suffering from horrible diarrhea that makes him even more miserable!. If the test comes back for C diff they can give him some more antibiotics to treat it!. Best Wishes, hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I'm not completely sure, but I have had relatives suffer from this disease and remember them all getting infections and things like this!.
If I was you I would ask one of the doctors or maybe nurses (they always seem to be that little bit friendlier) about whats happening!.
Good luck for the future!. In all honesty it isn't easy, especially with the lack of help provided by the NHS, but stay strong! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Could be from the meds he is on !. I would give Hospice a call and if they don't have the answer then call the doctor!. Could be c-diff!. Will need a stool specimen to confirm!. It is caused by the antibiotcs!. Good Luck!
Information added: If he does have c-diff it can be spread to other family members if precautions are not taken!. The most important thing is good handwashing if you are exposed to his stool!. If he uses the toilet clean it with bleach after bowel movements !. If he uses depends use caution when handling them (use gloves if you have them), wash soiled linen in hot water!. You shouldn't have any problems if you do this!. And again GOOD HANDWASHING (both him and his caregiver)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If he was taking antibiotics for the infection, then they could be causing him to have diarrhea!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
