Question:
What's wrong with my throat?? =[ (Please help! I am in PAIN!)?
(17, male, fit, vegetarian, no physical conditions, healthy & health-conscious)
ALL WEEK
Very little coughing but, Palatine Tonsils (now VERY swollen) and back of throat are spotted with whitish phlegm and bleeding/raw spots recently appeared.
Constant terrible ache in throat, and sore tongue. Lymph nodes the size of ping pong balls. Ears ACHE with pressure-sharp pain. Drinking tea and soup, eating popsicles to soothe pain, BUT swallowing water feels like broken glass.
Resting. Been taking anti-biotics and pain relief/fever reducer. Not working!!
BEGAN on June 23, trouble sleeping, hot flushes & chills, temp 103.5. No sleep at all. Sick in bed all day, couldn't sleep for more than 30min. without waking up drenched in puddles of sweat.
Noticed a small acne-looking rash below my knee.
Taken to the ER: blood check, x-ray. No mono, meningitis, strep, or anything else they could find. Was told it was a probably a virus, fed fluids through an IV and released, simply told to take Tylenol

your suggestions are all helpful.. but I am not suffering from a fever, or the rash any longer. Those things have faded away, but I am left with horrible aches and pains in my throat...
The only thing I can come up with is Tonsillitis, but I guess I'll have to see a doctor to know for sure...

You should google Scarlet Fever, sounds relative to what you are suffering from and it might help explain the rash around your knee. You might also want to revisit your doctor again or get in with another doctor, like an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor who might be better equipped to deal with and test the many kinds of strep. Either way, if you see another doctor, they might at least be able to get you on some medicine that will actually help you. Hope you get better.
