If your partner is positive and you are still considering continuing your relationship with him, then I applaud you for being this much open and I envy you!.

First of all there are many people who have relationship with HIV positive people and remain negative!. There are several ways to approach this problem!. You should always use condoms (vaginal/anal) and dental dam/comdoms for oral!. This is the basic recommendation!.

The best way is to discuss the situaiton with your family doctor!. They are trained to provide you proper advice!. Talk to him/her today and evaluate different options with him/her and move from there!.

I am truly disappointed with type of responses I see to this question and I really believe that you should ignore most of them!.

Good luck in your relationship and dont forget to discuss with your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I, like BK, am honestly ashamed of most of the answers that I'm reading here!.

Yahoo Answers is a terrible place to go if you want reliable, factual information!. It's a great place for opinions and experiences, but miserable if you need to know the truth!.

And you need to know the truth!.

I would do a websearch for reliable HIV support organizations!. Call or email THEM and ask your question!. You'll get answers that you can trust, and that aren't based on fear or prejudice!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

thats something that needs to be talked about through your partners doctor not here their are many ways to protect yourself people on here can be rude and ignorant not even knowing their status and being at high status with out even realizing it just have your partner make an appointment with the doc who in turn will tell you all the dos and donts rember education is keyWww@Answer-Health@Com

Absolutely, definitely: NO !!!

Not only are condoms not full proof, even when used correctly and remain intact, but HIV can be transferred from ANY body fluid!.

I noted your term "sex mate"!. That implies no deep emotional connection to the positive person!. Therefore: find someone else or plan to become HIV positive!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is still some risk, even with condom use!. However, this is something that you need to discuss with each other and your doctors!. No one on YA can make this decision for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wait, you're honestly considering it still!? Look, HIV is transmittable through ANY sexual fluids, would you REALLY want to risk that!? No, condoms are not %100 safeguard at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the only foolproof way is abstinence, with condoms your risk is about 80%!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
